Are you finding yourself with a lot less time on your hands than usual?
When you’re pushing hard to accomplish your goals, it’s easy to let the little things slide and let your schedule get hectic. Here are some simple ideas for how to get back in the groove and be your most productive self.
1. Stick To a To-Do List
At RMC, we’re big believers in writing down our goals to better focus on them. Every morning, create a specific to-do list with the things that MUST be done today. Even if there are only a couple of things on the list, it’s always nice to be able to cross something off.
2. Wake Up Earlier
How early do you wake up before work? Here’s an experiment: set your alarm just 30 minutes earlier than absolutely necessary.
Those extra 30 minutes can be used for goal-setting, relaxing hobbies, or even getting a head start on work.
3. Tidy Up
An organized workspace is a productive one. Cleaning and putting things away can replace chaos with order, leading to fewer distractions and faster work.
4. The Don’t-Do List
We’re fans of the to-do list, but have you ever tried a don’t-do list? Make a list of things to avoid to increase productivity.
Some examples might include checking social media, taking a long lunch, or texting significant others during work time.
Write them down, and be sure to grab a co-worker to help keep you accountable for your list.
5. Stay Healthy
Exercise has been proven to be a great way to relax. It also is an outlet to release frustration and boost confidence.
Make a jog or a gym session part of your week to improve your health and your work life.
Even 10 minutes away from your desk can help you clear your head. Try meditation to relax your mind, refocus on your goals, and take a deep breath to release stress during the workday.
You may be surprised at how refreshing it can be.
